If your child has been to Markeim's Summer Art Camp, please come by and see the show, now open during regular gallery hours until August 21st. There will be a closing reception at 6 pm on August 21st where teachers, students, interns, and parents are invited to share and discuss their art and summer experience at Markeim. We encourage everyone to come stop by and show their support for our newly exhibited young artists. It so far has been a fantastic summer of creativity and excitement, and we can't wait to spend the last two weeks exploring and experimenting in Week 9 with Picasso inspired collages and mosaics, as well as Week 10's silly animal and cartoon theme.

Don't forget parents, this week we are collecting art from anytime this summer! Slips can be picked up at the office when dropping off the artwork. 1-4 pieces per camper, please. Thank you for making this summer such a blast and we can't wait to show off your camper's artwork prominently on the walls of Markeim from August 14th to August 21st.
The administrative interns are working hard to invite everyone to the Markeim Arts Center for the Tricentennial Exhibit at Markeim Arts Center. Baely and I have been designing the Constant Contact E-blasts to spread the news. Constant Contact is a tool used to send an email to several people at a time, and we have been using it tell members about the news. We were able to choose the color of the template and write some of the text to share the information. Even though the Tricentennial Exhibit is not happening right now, we are having a lot of fun promoting it.
I think the Tricentennial Exhibit is a great way to show off new, up and coming artists. It is an interesting way to celebrate Haddonfield for its culture and its historical roots. The Markeim Arts Center has found a different way to express the uniqueness of town. By having this exhibition, this has included more people to appreciate the arts in another way. Markeim is a great community center that brings people together and enjoy the artists' works. My name is Kaileen and I am a PM Administrative Intern here at Markeim Arts Center. I'm going to be a junior at Haddonfeild Memorial High School. Even though I am not the greatest painter, I do enjoy performing arts. I play the violin and have been playing it for 12 years. Being an administrative intern, I can look at all of the art and work in the office. It is interesting to see how Markeim operates as a successful art center. All are welcome to enjoy the 3rd Annual 2013 Summer Art Camp Exhibit taking place on the walls of Markeim Arts Center from August 7th to August 14th. Artwork created during Little Kids Art Camp and Kids Art Camp both AM and PM sessions. High school Summer Interns are curating the artshow! Always one of the highlights of Summer, Markeim's Summer Art Camp Exhibit will be event not to miss. |
