We've begun setting up for our art camp exhibition already, and are eager to dive into next week's 'under the sea' theme. Keep checking in to see what's new next week, and there will be videos and pictures from Week 1 shortly. And don't forget to stop by and be a part of the Markeim yourself.
Friday is winding to a close and here at Markeim we are happy to have kicked off a fun first week of art. This week our theme was global art - and the children looked at paintings from countries around the world. Everything from Frida Kahlo and Hispanic culture to Japanese print making. The kids were submerged in all the nature and traditions from across the world learning to be inspired by the things in their lives they find most meaningful. Today, we finally discussed the Indian festival of Holi, and we all got a chance to learn something new from our special interns who celebrate personally!
