Staying with the week's theme of Art in Action, today's monoprints have a beginning, middle, and an end of the story. For example, during group share Mrs. Jenny illustrated this idea by using the story of The Three Little Monkeys. The story has a beginning which involves the "three little monkeys jumping on the bed." The middle of the story shows that "one fell off and bumped its head." The end is when the "mama calls the doctor and the doctor said 'No more monkeys jumping on the bed.'"
I thought that all the kids were really enjoying this project and they were all eager to do it. I also loved seeing them try to create a story and show me their creativity. During project time and overall, everyone was original with their ideas and loved this particular project. The thing I liked the most was that even the things outside and inside gave the kids inspiration and allowed them to create and finish their own monoprint. Some kids even did more than 3 pages, and instead they did 5!
My name is Sean Richards. I am a A.M. Art Camp Summer Intern at Markeim. I am going to be a Junior at Haddonfield Memorial High School. I enjoy drawing, making my own comic books, watching movies, and making people laugh. I enjoy my work here at Markeim because I love how everyone is positive and I love being in a artistic atmosphere.
